Lying in Plain Sight

Lying in Plain Sight
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/26/opinion/edsall-why-the-irs-scandal-wont-go-away.html?_r=0

So far has the NTY fallen.
"The story began in 2010, but did not become public until May 10, 2013, when Lois Lerner, then the director of the little-known Cincinnati-based Exempt Organization Division of the I.R.S., which reviews applications for tax-exempt status for non-profits, publicly acknowledged and apologized for the practice of targeting Tea Party groups for special scrutiny."

So the targeting was admitted by Lois Learner, so why is it described as an allegation? The following paragraphs complain that the staff of the IRS is too busy to respond to Left wing complaints of too much political activity.

Is the problem that the organizations are not paying taxes? No. The problem is the organizations are not revealing their members names. Why is this important? The members need to be punished for their political views.

Thus back to the original problem. Individuals and organization should not be punished for their political views.

Further, the IRS is being asked details into the targeting, and are failing to release information. With this being the case, why should the public trust the IRS to police organizations use of time. Better, quit obstructing and let existing applications be approved. Let existing complaints have their time limit be extended (through congressional action)

A better question, Why would the IRS be interested in the political activities, aren't the people free to have political assocoations? Why is the IRS interfering? It is not as if the donations to these groups are given deductibility for those organizations. It is not as if the groups are making a profit that might be taxed.

In every other aspect the Obama administration he inconvenient aspects of the laws are ignores. What makes the percentage of time used on political activity convent for the the Obama administration to highlight?

The problem is that crimes have been committed and are contiuing. The Obama administration is complacent, and are covering up. That is why he IRS problems won't go away.

Your lips are moving but no Sense is coming out

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2014/02/11/the_out-of-step_gop_121533.html

""The American people, including many of my members, don't trust that the reform that we're talking about will be implemented as it was intended to be," Boehner said, somehow managing to keep a straight face."

"In practice, this is all a bunch of nonsense. The Obama administration has been tougher on border security than any previous administration, carrying out a record number of deportations."

??? answer not responsive to question. The issue is not toughness. The president is tough all right, especially on political enemies, but is he following the law?

You can't compensate for letting all of the corrupt people in his administration off with no punishment by harassing the pawns in his game of thrones.

"By that standard, Republicans in Congress should just take the rest of the year off. If they object to the powers vested in the presidency, it's a waste of their time to even consider legislation on any subject. Instead, they should be working to amend the Constitution"

The problem is both the constitution and the law are being ignored, so correct, no more legislating until the problem is fixed.  That includes no more credit extension or money appropriated.

Will the Voters Remember who shafted Them on Healt

Will the Voters Remember who shafted Them on Health Care?

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-02-06/-doc-shock-reaches-the-masses.html

""If narrow networks could give everyone in the country access to health-care outcomes no worse than 90 percent as good as the folks with the best doctors at 75 percent of the price we'd pay for broader networks, the health-care wonks would jump on that deal as an unbelievable bargain. But I think it's pretty clear that average folks don't think like health-care wonks."

The Republicans told them, The right wing media told them, now there doctors are telling them. This has got to be sinking into the thickest skulls.

Must the Obamacare Debate Be Stupid?

Must the Obamacare Debate Be Stupid?
By E.J. Dionne - February 6, 2014

It must if E.J. Dionne is involved.

"The reaction to the CBO study is an example of how willfully stupid -- there's no other word -- the debate over Obamacare has become. Opponents don't look to a painstaking analysis for enlightenment. They twist its findings and turn them into dishonest slogans. Too often, the media go along by highlighting the study's political impact rather than focusing on what it actually says. My bet is that our citizens are smarter than this."

The assumption that people who are forced into part time work will be compensated by more people being hired, seems to be a stretch. I don't need to call it stupid, just unlikely. It is true that it is other provisions of ObamaCare that will prevent this. To suspect the american people have such a nuanced view that the lose of hours doesn't equate to lost jobs, is unrealistic. So to say "stupid" is in fact the argument. Many may recognize this from kindergarden.

"They will ignore the noise and judge Obamacare by how it works. "
This is the statement I can agree with. I, however, am not running for office away from OmamaCare. Those that are, may wish to project the failure of ObamaCare before it becomes their personal failure.

If you are going to make up facts, You have to be a better writer

If you are going to make up facts, You have to be a better Writer

http://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/anti-obamacare-facts-damned-article-1.1601052

"Sick kids denied specialty care due to #Obamacare," his Twitter feed proclaimed on Saturday, linking to a conservative blog post based on a TV news report out of Seattle. His Facebook page weighed in on the same story, calling it "heartbreaking" and vowing that House Republicans "will continue working to scrap this broken law."
There's just one problem: The shocking claim — that the President's health reforms resulted in sick children being denied care — was flat-out false. Which Boehner's staff must have known, assuming they actually read the material they were helping to spread across the Internet."

There is a problem with the problem. What the writer said was untrue, was true, again from the text of the article. Maybe the author needs to be a better reader as well. Saying that the children were treated and that the children were denied treatment can both be true. That ObamaCare denied treatment is true. That the Hospital to which they were taken treated them anyway, is also true.

If the fact that they were treated, is the same as the fact that people without health insurance were treated at emergency room prior to Obama care. It is ObamaCare itself that is the failure, not the health system.

Paul Klugman's Delusions of Importance

Paul Klugman's Delusions of Importance

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/03/opinion/krugman-delusions-of-failure.html?_r=0

"Bette's tale had policy wonks scratching their heads; it was hard to see, given what we know about premiums and how the health law works, how anyone could face that large a rate increase. Sure enough, when a local newspaper, The Spokesman-Review, contacted Bette Grenier, it discovered that the real story was very different from the image Ms. McMorris Rodgers conveyed. First of all, she was comparing her previous policy with one of the pricier alternatives her insurance company was offering — and she refused to look for cheaper alternatives on the Washington insurance exchange, declaring, "I wouldn't go on that Obama website.""

Who are the "wonks" referred to, and why can we rely on Paul Klugman's assurances, or rather implied reality that wonks know best. Why does Mr. Krugman think we care what he thinks? Paul has delusions that what he thinks matters and that the New York is still the newspaper of record.

Deliberate lies in support of the Democrat party has a price.

Even if Mr. Krugman were unknown, his assertions are devoid of facts.

"The Republican response to the State of the Union was delivered by Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Republican representative from Washington — and it was remarkable for its lack of content. A bit of uplifting personal biography, a check list of good things her party wants to happen with no hint of how it plans to make them happen."

I have to admit, this is a good critique of ... President Obama. With the full weight of the Federal government, Obama can't come up with a competent State of the union speach. Devoid of facts. Denied by the republican wonks. (our wonks are as good are your wonks)

And why require that the Congresswoman to have a detailed supporting documentation for the points made. The assertion is that the republicans have no plan. She presented a plan. So it is proven, the republicans have a plan, in fact many plans. The details are to be reviewed in the deliberations of congress, when and if the The Reed from Nevada allows that to happen. Until then, quit complaining. The ball is in your court.
