So far has the NTY fallen.
"The story began in 2010, but did not become public until May 10, 2013, when Lois Lerner, then the director of the little-known Cincinnati-based Exempt Organization Division of the I.R.S., which reviews applications for tax-exempt status for non-profits, publicly acknowledged and apologized for the practice of targeting Tea Party groups for special scrutiny."
So the targeting was admitted by Lois Learner, so why is it described as an allegation? The following paragraphs complain that the staff of the IRS is too busy to respond to Left wing complaints of too much political activity.
Is the problem that the organizations are not paying taxes? No. The problem is the organizations are not revealing their members names. Why is this important? The members need to be punished for their political views.
Thus back to the original problem. Individuals and organization should not be punished for their political views.
Further, the IRS is being asked details into the targeting, and are failing to release information. With this being the case, why should the public trust the IRS to police organizations use of time. Better, quit obstructing and let existing applications be approved. Let existing complaints have their time limit be extended (through congressional action)
A better question, Why would the IRS be interested in the political activities, aren't the people free to have political assocoations? Why is the IRS interfering? It is not as if the donations to these groups are given deductibility for those organizations. It is not as if the groups are making a profit that might be taxed.
In every other aspect the Obama administration he inconvenient aspects of the laws are ignores. What makes the percentage of time used on political activity convent for the the Obama administration to highlight?
The problem is that crimes have been committed and are contiuing. The Obama administration is complacent, and are covering up. That is why he IRS problems won't go away.
