Must the Obamacare Debate Be Stupid?

Must the Obamacare Debate Be Stupid?
By E.J. Dionne - February 6, 2014

It must if E.J. Dionne is involved.

"The reaction to the CBO study is an example of how willfully stupid -- there's no other word -- the debate over Obamacare has become. Opponents don't look to a painstaking analysis for enlightenment. They twist its findings and turn them into dishonest slogans. Too often, the media go along by highlighting the study's political impact rather than focusing on what it actually says. My bet is that our citizens are smarter than this."

The assumption that people who are forced into part time work will be compensated by more people being hired, seems to be a stretch. I don't need to call it stupid, just unlikely. It is true that it is other provisions of ObamaCare that will prevent this. To suspect the american people have such a nuanced view that the lose of hours doesn't equate to lost jobs, is unrealistic. So to say "stupid" is in fact the argument. Many may recognize this from kindergarden.

"They will ignore the noise and judge Obamacare by how it works. "
This is the statement I can agree with. I, however, am not running for office away from OmamaCare. Those that are, may wish to project the failure of ObamaCare before it becomes their personal failure.
